A little ivory or bone box?.

Yesterday was 50% off many items at one of the big local thrift stores and I had seen some silver jewelry previously that I would buy if it came down in price, but when I checked the locked case I found some early bird had gotten the worm before me. Snooze, you loose I guess. Anyways I scoped out the shelves and came across this little item. It appears to be carved and not molded from either bone or possibly Ivory. Looks Asian to me and for only $2.72 I felt it had better odds in being worth more than a 3 dollar scratch ticket.
