Relic Hunting
My buddies and I got out to detect on Saturday to a special part of Virginia that just continues to give up relics and coins from yesteryear. Yesterday was no different, a buddy of mine pulled his first Yankee belt buckle about a hundred yards from where I dug mine earlier in the spring.

Although no old coins surfaced yesterday, I was able to save a bit of history. My finds for the day included:

1 complete .52 spencer bullet with casing. This makes three of these I have dug from this area.
3 fired enfilelds
1 dropped Williams Cleaner
1 fired .58
4 dropped .58s
1 Jacket General Service Button
1 Vest General Service Button
1 flat button (confederate with the wrods: WARRANTED STANDARD E&B TREBLE GILT
1 small piece of brass with the English Crown. I have no idea what this item is, so any suggestions please let me know.
HH.

Those are some cool finds...I wonder what the crown item is...

That's a nice pile of lead - and I can't believe you were able to dig a complete Spencer cartridge. That was a great recovery. :)

great finds! I found a full spencer once in a trash pit up in Virgina. You done good!

Looks like you had a fun day of relic hunting. That Spencer is sweet.
