A Little Off Topic But... Gold and Silver Commercials

Has anyone else noticed a huge spike in them recently. My grandparents are in town so I have seen a lot of news lately, and they seem to always be playing during commercials. I have seen three different commercials (all different companies) just today, and a lot more through out last week. Maybe it's just because I never watch the news. What are your thoughts?
