A little silver and the eye of the tiger!

Actually this should be posted in last weeks finds but I had no time to post these yet..
So, here it goes.

We had some pretty heavy rains the last weeks, streets were flash flooded, the sea was brown from the silt washed into it etc...
After this kind of weather I like to check the gutters flanking the streets for small coins that get washed there, kinda like in a gold prospector's pan.

Well I didn't find any coins but I found this small metallic lump that I picked up and saw a 925 stamp on it. After a little straightening it turns out to be a very bent silver cufflink with a nice square spiral on it, no hope of restoring it I'm afraid, looks like many cars drove over it. But it's 4 grams of silver so I'm happy with this find!

My best find though was this massive golden-brown oval tiger's eye I found.

I found this one covered in mud lying in the gutter of the main street of my hometown. Hundreds of people walk by that spot every day, no one saw this but me? Makes me wonder...
On this main street there's a yearly fair held on September for a religious festival celebrating the Virgin Mary Church that is on the same street. There are many stands with people selling all kinds of stuff. There are some selling jewelry and gems, I guess it could have fallen off one of these stands... Just a theory.

The shape has me baffled. It's oval with a convex top and a flat bottom. I'm open to any suggestions on what this shape could be usefull for... This stone is 34 grams heavy, if I'm correct that's 170 carat, right? Anyone know what this is worth?

Very nice finds silver and tiger eye! Congrats!

Maybe the tiger eye is one of those stones that you rub like a worry stone? Just guessing.

Well in terms of $$$ worth , "things are worth what people will pay for them " Tiger eye is not a pricey stone per say - what you have there
is a "worry stone " I think . The concavity in shape is for the worrier to rub with his or her thumb repeatedly until "no worries mate "
(Well looks like msbeepbeep beat me to the punch , but I'm not worried ! just a slow typist )

Fantastic finds

You done done well brother.....

Congratulations on the finds!

A "worry stone"!!!
Never had heard of those... the funny thing is I liked the feel of the stone in my hand, it's really smooth and while holding it I did just what you guys described, I rubbed my thumd on it... I have a few worries this time of my life, I don't know if it will help but I know it feels nice :-)
Thanks people HH
