Went to Sweet arrow Lake County Park Today

Met up with "jeff741972", "WhitesPa" & "TexJim"
We couldn't get into the area we wanted because A Pick up (Fisherman)
Had the driveway to the Parking lot Blocked
& The rest of it looked like Swamp Anyway.

So we Decided to do some Hunting where we Met.
I Wish I had my Camera on me.
Tex Did a Highwire act Crossing The Lake on
a Narrow Downed Tree. If he had fallen
His new Whites would have
been swimmin' with the Fishes :D

My finds today Included these

Picture 008.webp

between Roots of all sizes I Pull out this.

I had the Camera in the Truck But unfortunately
I was already on the other side of the lake
I Found a Narrow spot.

What Tex didn't know Is If he fell in
he would not have just hit the mud & Got wet to his waste,
WhitesPa can attest to this,
He would have also Sunk in the Mud to his waste
& Been in to his Neck. it Would have took 911 call ;D

I've sunk to my knees in gunk like tht before it was kinda scarey!

Yep Last time it was drained we would have to stop
detecting and rescue women & Kids From it on more then
one Occasion. And almost lost Shoes in it Daily.

Took awhile to learn how to Navigate Quicksand type Mud Suction.

Like walking in waste deep Axle Greese

If i would have fell in we would have been laughing about that forever... but the guys took notice i didn't go back across that way it was shaky.... good job on your finds. i might be your good luck charm the last time we went out you found silver....

That may be True.

But I think I'm your Bad Luck charm
so Far :D You been doin better Other times :D

Great finds regardless! Look at it this way, you get to re-stock the tackle box!

As for mud and muck you sink into... It's truly amazing as to how as person can fall into water, or mud, and come out of it with their body covered from head to toe, but the MD is clean as a whistle! ;D Funny how we can get it over our heads and NOT let it get wet/dirty in a situation like that... :icon_scratch:

Keep on swinging,

Grip

Nice hunt, Jeff!!! Congrats on the great finds!

(Including the large cent - it was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?) I've dug a few green Indians that turned out to be memorials.... >:(

Looks like a great and non-forgettable day of detecting. Yes, those Kodiak moments are exceptional.

Ha, that's pretty funny about the "large cent" turning out to be a 70s clad coin...but also at the same time I'm sorry about the letdown. I've been there before too. That was a long time to be digging a target. But congrats on the silver!

It was great meeting you and Ed!! That half had us all thinking, great day indeed!
