A nice spur

I actually found this spur a couple of months ago.
I was going through my past treasures, reminiscing about better days and was hoping that someone could tell me anything about it.
I'm no expert when it comes to spurs, I'm hoping that someone is.

I recently saw a similar spur on the net, it was IDed as post Civil War (1865 or later, Indian War). I hope it is earlier but doubtful as they did not get too fancy during the CW war. HH and let us know what you find out, Mike

It is made of brass, I wish it were silver...that would be sweet!

That actually makes sense, I guess they would be more occupied with a war than making fancy spurs.
