Love it H.P., that's a straight up killer.
I'd like to hear from some of the knowledgeable people here on what material that might be. I have found points before that resemble the material but I'm pretty certain it would have been traded into this area. I don't know of any naturally occurring black rock...but that doesn't mean there isn't! That stuff looks like rhyolite to me. Mine might be a little more glossy, even with river wear. Anybody have any ideas?,,this point was found along the Homasassa River, Florida,on an island low level midden campsite infused with brackish water..the result of a sea level rise, over a couple of thousand years resulting in the present bluish black patina...it’s made from fossil chert.thanks for the question..I basically have to wait for a question,cuzz it’s too time consuming to detail on original post.
