A pretty good first hunt of the year

I went out with the GTI2500 for awhile today. I didn't get the silver I wanted to start the year, but did find an 1897 V nickle and an 1889 IH cent. Other items of interest were a collar button with deteriorated mother of pearl, a ceramic marble and a brass US padlock. Also found was 90 cents worth of clad and Lincoln cents. I'm sorry I don't have a camera that takes clear enough pictures to post.

I went back today to try my 12 1/2" coil, still trying for that silver. The larger coil was unusable at this site. Overhead power lines caused too much interference. I lowered the sensitivity and changed the frequency,but had to change back to the smaller coil. However, I did find another IH cent, a 1903.

You sure did get some nice finds for the first hunt Charles.....The GTI 2500 is a pretty good machine.

When I had my 2500 I was able to eliminate power line interferance with a little fine tuning. I can't recall just what I did, but it can be done. Monty
