I recently found 3 in the Muddy Bottom of a Drained Lake.
99% Sure They were lost this past Summer.
They Averaged an Estimated 25+/- Feet underwater for a few Months.

Dose anybody think they will still work ? or have any experience finding (water Bound) Go-Pro's?

I found them a Month ago , they are Dry Now but are Still covered in 'Lake Mud'.
Thanks for any reply's.

The session is waterproof to 33' without a case. The other's need a protective case that is waterproof. If no case, done.

What can you read on them / try to post a picture of the finds

I have found @ -100ft down some gopro with protective underwater case ...one was lost 8 month before and the other one 2 years before (could read the SD card). Both are still fully functional, just needed to buy a new battery :hello2:

found in cases or without? pics?

If they were in the clear protective case they should be fine if not at least the SD cards may still work.

Yes, they can! This one was in the ocean over a year, recharged the battery and it worked again.

Cool finds. I found a Hero3 in a protective case about a year ago out in the surf. I need to get a charger and other accessories so I can upload to my computer. The case seems to work great as the camera looks almost new. Probably lost by a surfer after a wipeout.

Those protective cases are awesome.

Thanks for all the comments.
I do think 1 was in a thicker type protective case , Sorry they are not in front of me now.
Ill spray them off later for a closer look .

Hopefully 1 or all can be Salvaged , As the Wife wants One.
Thanks everybody.

OK
I typed the previous reply yesterday & forgot to hit 'Post" daaaaaaa.

There are 3 cameras 2 Hero Types , & 1 Hero 2 .
The hero 2 is def ,in a case & pretty sure the other 2 are also cause they have 'Big Square Lenses ' I think the reg, cameras have Round lenses . I sprayed them off & could see no water inside the plastic , no condensation either... Cool!

The H2 looks Cool , hope to get that one working , I don't Film my hunts (once I get started it's hard to stop), even to take Pictures .
Funny almost 3 years ago now , I found the Camera I use for Hunting / Most things , on the Beach (i could only see the top inch of the strap sticking out of the sand.
It had great Video of some Family from La, & it documented their Vacation from there to Tybee Island Ga, all the way to the point where they were shooting Video in the Ocean & a Big Wave hit;s the Camera user & the camera falls to the bottom of the Sea. I found it the Next Morning.
We could not look at the SIM card til I got Home , I tried everything to figure out how to get in touch with the original owners , but saw nothing but a lady wearing a Family Reunion Shirt W/ the name of a place in Louisiana ; no name's of the family tho.

FWIW The Camera 's only issue was a piece of sand got behind the Lens / Shutter window & it did not want to Close.
We fixed that & it has worked ever since.
