a question in ref to depth of AT PRO vs AT GOLD

I understand that there are some differences between the two, they are diff detectors. I also understand the pro can be used in salt water and the gold not so. I think that the standard coil of the pro should go deeper than the 5by8 coil. the question is that will both detectors with the same 5 by 8 coil detect about the same or will the pro get the edge? just curious. thanks for any input or info especially from anyone that has both detectors.
