Good morning to all. I hit 4 comm sales yesterday, and was a little lucky! On the first sale I scored the Rolex and the Griswold #9 cast iron Dutch oven pot. The gold I scored at my last comm sale of the day, late in the day. All of the jewelry was in little containers and the earrings were marked .50 cents a pair. 😁 Since it was late in the day, it had already been picked, but not good enough, as I wad still able to find 14kt. The Rolex is a beauty, and I was ready for the opportunity with cash on hand. I had lost one years ago by having to go and get the money from the bank. By the time I came back, the owner had changed his mind. That was a lesson learned. Please let me know your thoughts. As always, they are truly appreciated.

Nice items, congratulations. I especially like the deep pot. It beckons to an open fire with a pot of chili soup; the non-authentic kind with beans and tomatoes.

Dang! You sure hit some spectacular yard sales. I once had two Rolex watches I bought at pawn shops in the 90s. I made good money selling them on ebay. I wish I hadn't sold them now, because the prices have gone to the stratosphere. I quit selling all the vintage watches I come by now because they're just hard to come by now at a good price.

nice cast iron pot.
I am a big fan of cast iron cooking and have a number myself we use often.

som great items!

what is the value of the Rolex?

I was at a yard sale this past weekend.. A fellow had a bunch of [fake] Rolexes for $40.00 each.. I passed on them.
But he did have a Rolex 93250 band.. I got that for $20.00.. My old 9315 band is getting quite worn and weak.. I am going to swap them over.. Then my Submariner will be like new

In my , granted limited. experience with Rolexes { I have had the same submariner for 54 years now], that one posted here looks real.. The band is a combination of s/s and 18K gold. If real, it would be worth a lot of money

Thanks again to all. The watch is real. I took it to a professional watchmaker. He opened it, and confirmed that the parts were all Rolex, and it has it's original Rolex 18kt gold and Stainless Steel Jubilee bracelet. It is the model 16233 based on serial # is was made in 1991. It is in excellent condition. Those pics were taken when acquired. I've since cleaned it, and it looks beautiful. All the best to all.

Having collected luxury watches since the '80s, and having owned a total of 12 Rolexes over the decades (still own the one in the first photo below, and the one on the right in the second--sold the one on the left in that photo, from 1939, not long ago because I didn't wear it enough), I can say the bracelet on the watch is exactly as it should be. The watch is certainly real. Nice find.

My name is indeed spelled Micheal.. It is a gaellic version of Michael.. My mother was of Scottish descent and she wanted a Gaellic name for me.. No one can actually pronounce it , what with the rolled 'ch' [almost sounds like you are getting ready to spit];D

I am 1/2 Scottish. I’m not sure I pronounce my last name correctly, based on the old dialects. 😀
