I found this tonight in a MWR.
I spotted it right away and first thought it was a foreign coin because of how it looked in the roll. But, it is a half just a little smaller than the rest.
Has anyone else ever found one like this.
Everything looks right on it. It has good reeding and a rim. It does not look worn.
It weights only 10.1 gr
Hopefully you can see in these pics.
The first pic has another halve behind it.

Misaligned die?

I've got a Kennedy half that, if I remember correctly, weighs less than 9g, but I don't remember it being smaller than normal in diameter. I found it by sound. It doesn't sound quite like silver, but it sounds much different than normal clad.

Our mint, over the years, has struck coinage for other countries. Its possible that your coin was struck on a foreign planchet.

I found one like that myself. The coin machine refused to accept it after I tossed
it back several times. One expect from other site asked me to send it to him but
i was not that curious to spend the postages.

I'm curious now too... I have several 1972 & 1979 Philadelphia minted half dollars weighing up at 10.4g. Not as light as yours but mine make a different sound when dropped but they ARE NOT magician halves.

It is definitely not a magician coin. Very odd to have a different diameter. Guess it will go in my slight oddity pile.

I'm thinking it shrunk in the wash
