Last Friday I purchased $400.00 in dimes, but when I got home and counted the rolls I had received $395.00,short $5.00. It was a mistake,I know the teller didn't do it intentionally. I called the bank on Saturday and asked to speak with the teller, but he wasn't there. I found out that his draw came up $4.00 something over that day. They told me he would be in today. So I called and explained what happened and they told me to come in and they would refund the $5.00. I just returned from the bank and they did give me $5.00 back and were very nice about all of it! I thought for sure I was going to be out the money. Just goes to show you that there are very honest people out there. :)

I live in a big city (louisville, ky) but still bank in a small town about 40 min. away as a secondary account because small town people are just so much nicer. So far in the city though I've come to learn that the worst bank to deal with is chase (in my experiences) and the best one with the nicest people has been 5/3rd.

I will second the vote on 5th3rd. I have several accounts with them here in Western Ky.
They go out of their way to serve you!

That was nice of that bank. Thanks for posting a good deed done by a bank, I don't here enough about the betters on the other side of the booth.

wow glad u got your money back! as far as nice i just got thru a very exasperating day at natioal city bank. i went to a branch several hours away from me so i can dump into a diff fed district then i am getting from. called their natl customer service in adv to make sure they will take it.they give me a branch loc and when i get here.surprise1!!! no coin machine.so they said we will count it by hand.i told the teller i wanted to use some to fund a cd and some cash back.then the manager shows up and says no they will accept the coin as deposit only.i am on a crh road trip thru the south so i had to take back almost 2000 in halves after we spent 2 hours with ht e tellers counting it by hand.have to have some cash to trade with. oh well keep pluggin.my whole take on this seems to be the bigger the bank the more jerks they are bank of america #1 in size in usa also worst ripoff policies.stay away if you can.

To bad you couldn't have deposited it and then made a withdrawl for some of it. I can't see how they could refuse to do that. There is no time limit a deposit has to stay in your account to clear, only checks are held against your account balance until they clear. They didn't treat you very well, sorry to hear that!

Also, any cash deposit is instantly cleared in your account. At least at my main bank (Wachovia),it is.

That was nice of the bank. That's one to do business with.
