Hi all,
As we are all on the verge of being in very deep s..., I though I'd get out today before the s... drops. The spot I wanted to hunt was too frozen, so I went deep into the woods. I found 1 Antler (thought of L4S and Etrac007 BTW let me know what you do with them, I have a second one I found last spring)... Anyway my only other find besides trash I pulled was this Token ... Kind of both Cool and Ironic since the NFL season finished last night.

Front Reads: Round and Round she goes // where she stops nobody knows (around edge) Center: Kingsbury Aristocrat of Beer. The center has the circular notch which creates a spinner on the other side (I guess it was spin the bottle without the bottle). Token is still true and spins well on my counter.

1949 (Chicago) Cardinals Football schedule (Dates and Home/Away)
Sept 26 Washington Home
Oct 2 Chi Bears Home
Oct9 Philadelphia Away
Oct 16 Green Bay Away
Oct 23 Detroit Home
Oct 30 New York Home
Nov 6 Detroit Away
Nov 13 New York Away
Nov 20 Los Angeles Home
Nov 27 Green Bay Home
Dec 4 Los Angeles Away
Dec 11 Chicago Bears Home

(Note Token considers playing the Bears a home game since both times are listed as home...)

Cool Token, I hope it helps me to deal with all the s... coming our way.

BTW; winter is always more fun in Wisconsin. I was at Meetings for work in Lake Geneva over the weekend. In the free time I drove on the lake and did donuts and 8's, etc... Kind of like winning a NASCAR race.

Nice token, p! Yeah, I was planning a little hunt this upcoming weekend, even called Mikewaz and we were about to plan it out when I got the bad news. I guess you can call this the calm before the storm. Guess I won't see the ground til about May!

Hey, nice car-on-lake photo. Last time I met up with Mark, Tim, and Bob, there was a frozen lake in the vicinity and I was just itching to go out there and run and slip & slide on it. There were a few guys ice fishing on the lake and I didn't want to annoy them ;D

Very nice token....
I've seen them with cubs and sox..... That is cool being the cardinals.....

Yep, very cool token for sure. But since the Bears were the "new" kids on the block, having moved from Decatur, where they were known as the Decatur Staleys, a local canning company corporate team. They moved to Chicago as the Staleys in 1921, becoming the Bears a year or so later. The Chicago Cardinals were the rulers of the nest since 1898. The Cardinals played at Comiskey while the Bears played at Wrigley at the inception of the NFL I think. Kinda hard to remember them old days anymore...

So yep, at one time Chicago was a two-horse town.

Some of those Kingsbury spinners had an arrow on them, pointing to who bought the next round.

This one does, though its difficult to see in the photo. It is between Kingsbury and Beer ("Aristocrat of" is written inside the arrow). Perhaps I should bring it on the next group hunt to see who is buying :occasion14:

Love that token. I sometimes would rather find some kind of token instead of a mass produced silver coin.
WTG JON.
I would have done the same on that lake... Donuts galore.....

Awesome token Jon! I would rather find that over a few silver coins given that I really like old chicago sports items. Here is a 1926 Bears versus Cardinals program I have.

Nice token, Jon. I would be happy with that based on my last dozen outings or so.

sweet token! looking forward to finding my first sometime this spring/summer. also checked out your facebook link and we went to the same high school! I was in the class of 2001. I also live just a couple blocks down from IWU. Do you ever visit the area?

Back then Kingsbury and the Cardinals were like the 1960's Hamm's
and the Cubs. . . Jack Brickhouse & crew. . . those were the days :)

What an awesome "spinner" token. . . something to covet for sure

Would love to find something like that. . . you're off to a great start this year 8)

That's a pretty cool token, Jon.

Cool find!
I've never seen one of those before.
