So today after a week indoors, we were finally able to head out into the sunshine, well after clearing the frost from the truck! xx

So it was off to our old favourite the pond field, I think we spent most of January in these fields.. 😆 we just love them and they did not disappoint me.

I got a cracking signal and my heart skipped several beats when I found this beautiful horse pendant… absolutely the stuff I dream about, little buckle, then a mystery bit, buckle bits, gorgeous strap end, another mystery bit, lead weight, interesting bits, buttons, and himself’s best find, a complete lead button, 2 tokens, and ta da… my stunning Henry the 7th hammered…1485-1509 SILVER GROAT.
. My first one of this type… absolutely so proud of my field today 😆 xx

Great Day congrats,👍

Hi Blossom,

Are you sure your hammered is a Henry VII groat?

I would have said a Canterbury half-groat of Edward IV. You have a knot under the bust and mint mark of a sun on the obverse. #2025 in spink.

Matches this one here:

Might be wrong though!

The pendant could be the coat of arms of the country of Holland , a red standing lion in a golden field. A very rare, dutch 13th century horse pendant.

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but not that rarer type, I have a couple of Red Rampant Lion Pendants. (if you do some searching about its a fairly common one.)

As for the 'Groat', they are hard to find, not sure because of a lack of scale, but I assume its not a Halfgroat? What is most interesting about this coin is the strange couterstamp below the neck on the Obverse!
