Visited 2 good sites today for a short hunt, the crotal was so imbedded in roots it took 20 mins to dig out, not sure if i should leave the root in it or not. Also found a 48 rosie and a 1892 indianhead, 2 suspender buckles and some strange decorative lamp sconses. most of the good signals were wheaties in between all the iron, i need to plan another trip or two back to these sites, from where things were it seems that they should have been found by previous hunters, maybe I found a few untouched sites,
time will tell, enjoy the pics.

I tend to agree with you about the possibility of those sites being untouched. You would think things like that wouldn't remain in the ground if it were hunted before. Nice finds!

Great find Prolab! Thanks for sharing...

I'd take the root out. Maybe the buckes were from the same pair. Who know why someone was taking them off in the woods?
