My parents told me of finding a crashed airplane near an abandoned airstrip. I live in Washington now so I am way out of range to look for it. The airstrip used to service the old resort at Cavanaugh Lake. My parents lived and rode horses out of Waterloo (west of Chelsea and Ann Arbor) . My thinking is the airstrip must be North or Northwest of the lake.
The plane they described having found is within a quarter mile of the runway in brush, not heavily treed. It is supposed to be an old Jenny and was left as it had been when it crashed. Good luck hunting.
