got out there , pretty overgrown , not what i expected , but has potential, have to go back with the guy that drew the map, we found 1 foundatio and the cistern, didnt find much , my friend put the detecter down and right off the bat he found an old military button , eagle button , dont know the age yet ,but has to be between 1865 and 1900, here the button

Thats the least overgrown it will be all year so you march right back up there and hit it till you are loaded down with relics and silver ;D

Keep looking, there has to be something really good there some place!!!
 
A cool looking spot. I would hit it hard. The button dates in the 1850's. That type of eagle was used from about 1850 to 1875. The backmark is a RMDC Raised Mark Depressed Channel. Most of that type of mark are 1850's. There are a couple exceptions though. Those being Raymold & Whitlock & HV Allien Your button is probably Scovill or Waterbury Button Co. Kind of hard to tell from the pic.
Go dig some good stuff to show us. :thumbsup:
