About to purchase first detector. Need last minute advise

Well I am about to pull the trigger on my first detector and just wanted to get some input on what folks think of the one I am thinking of going with and also any experience folks have had with the vendor. I am doing this as a hobby with a budget of about $250 or so.

I have also been considering the Garret Ace 250 and Tesoro Silver uMax.

Any input would be appreciated.

i would go with the teknetics delta 4000, this machine is a coin killer and u get pretty depth too. i seen one go on ebay for about a 150.00, i like it as much as my f 70, well worth the money.

I agree, I've had the delta 4000 for about a year now and I love mine! Wish I was off of work so I could go home and use it yet today...
