I used to have an XLT that I sold last year cause I thought I would not go detecting anymore but I still want to detect and bought an ACE 250. My ACE 250 in all metal mode will air test a kennedy half at 13 inches. I know air tests don't prove a lot but I was curious what the deepest coins your ACE 250 veterens have dug up?

i have dug a wheat and my brother has dug an indian at 8 inches with the ace. it was a broken iffy signal, that i probably wouldnt dig all of the time, but it did sound off.

I've gotten a dime at around 6 and change and a quarter that had to be at least 7 inches down.

How accurate is the Ace for depth readings?

it depends on the soil conditions but i have found mine to be pretty accurate.

I haven't done that good on coins, but I have dug Civil War type stuff deeper than thet. It's a good little machine, but I want a better one now.

I don't have CW relics around here, DM, but have found some Midwestern relics, farm equipment parts, old watches, RR spikes, etc with my Ace 250 at 6"+ regularly. People tend to think of the Ace as just a coin machine; it's way more than that 8)
