Ace 250 picking up radio stations

I was detecting this past weekend at a friends house and I was constantly picking up a faint signal of a radio station in my headphones. This is the first time this has happened to me since using this detector for about 4 months. Is this something common or is something wrong with the detector?

I figured it was somewhat common just never had it happened before. It was just a little annoying thinking someone was talking to you, I kept on saying "What?" to my friend. My friend says he can hardly pick up radio stations or local TV at his house, I told him to put a metal detector on the roof.
