Ace 250 Threshold Tone?

Well, got my Ace in the mail yesterday. Didn't have much time to play with it just yet. I did notice that there is not a constant humming threshold tone as my White's 4900 has. Is this correct? It is silent unless over metal?

Correct and it has different sounding tones depending on the target.

The ace is a "silent search" machine, meaning it does not have a threshold sound. In detecting mode it will only ring if it detects something in the ground. Although when you use the pinpointing feature the machine goes into "true all metal" mode and has a threshold, you can hear it when holding down the pinpoint.
