Acid Jelly for Cleaning?

I don't know if anyone caught the travel channel showing the Grand National Relic Shootout, there were teams of dectorists for most makes of metal detectors hunting virgin territory for relics. There were some real nice finds & at the end of the show, they were cleaning a belt plate & a gold button with acid jelly. I never heard of this before & was wondering if anyone uses this for cleaning?

Prolly the same as "Naval Jelly" the classic rust remover.

I was watching they were also using olive oil and cotten. IT was very informative show. ( lots of old coins and relics.)

What they we using is "Aluminum Jelly". Here is a link to the MFG web site:

You can usually find it at an Ace Hardware store for $4 - 5. If not, some MD dealers carry it.
