Find photo editing softwar program to edit the contrast and brightness. If you save the image as a .jpg you can use the software to edit the file. Do a search on the internet and look for Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006. You can download a 60 trial to see if it will do what you need it to do.

I use Photoshop, but the GIMP is a good free photo editor.The Windows version is here:

It also comes in Linux and Mac versions.

Learn to use the curves tool.
