After 13 inches of rain i finally got out to the "Windmill Hill"

Hi all, been watching Australia sink this week . Not so good for some. Even down south in Victoria we have huge rains. Local rivers have caused flooding but no major damage. Well finally the rain has cleared and i headed up to the hill where it drys off quickly. Found a couple of small silvers and about a Gram of gold and a few relics. Really humid and the bitey bugs very where.

Looks like prime conditions there Tinpan.

Super wet ground=easier digging and more depth! :)

Any company marks on your trouser buttons? The small buckle is from the trouser adjustment strap at the back of the pants. In the 19th century, pants did not have belt loops, and the slack was taken up with the small buckles. Some of those buckles have company marks and dates as well.

Was thinking on how you made out in the rains, good to hear that your ok and were able to get out again.
With all the rains, does it open up any new opportunities in the gullies for hunting the yellow for you?

Glad to hear you're okay, hope no one you know was affected.
They were showing a fair amount of your troubles on the news out here.

Thanks for the replies. There many old mines in this area from 60 feet too 5000 feet deep. Yes water does expose gold on the sides of hill and the creek below. Only small pieces left, this area was mined for a 100 years. 1851 -1954 . the silver coins are in bad condition and no date is exact.
