Hey Gang,
After a rather 'feathery' and 'smelly' ride to the beach this weekend, I managed to find one goodie among the junk dumped by Hurricane Irene. Overall hunting was not that great because Irene dumped huge amounts of sand on the beach, which covered up what people had lost during the summer.
I found a really nice Ruby & Diamond ring. It is marked 14KT and has a Maker's Mark. In the last pic, I've drawn what the MM looks like, and am in hopes someone will recognize it.
I've found some really strange things, but this weekend was a first to find a hammer on the beach! :laughing7:

Chug, I bet this ring is Red's fav color! LOL Thanks! Breezie

A hammer??? Strange.
Nice hunt though and another great photo display.

You did well Breezie. Last year I found a "cresent" style wrench that had the brand name RABBIT cast in the handle. I gave it to my cousin, never thought to take a pic of it.
send us some rain.

EXCELLENT ring, Breezy. My mothers birthstone too  Pretty much the same story here in Jersey. The storm was actually TOO powerful. No cuts on the beaches whatsoever. Many hunters feel the same way. Not what we were expecting. You managed to snag a beauty though. Fresh drop maybe? Nice pull :headbang:

Sweet ring Breezie :icon_thumright: I found ther same true at my SC beach as well (about a foot more sand than there was the last trip) You just never know what these storms will do!!!

Awesome lookin ring! Congrats!

Matt

That ring is really gorgeous Breezie! :o

I love the "antique" BIC lighter . . . they're extremely collectable you know! :laughing7:

Dave

You are still on a roll with the bracelet and now a very nice ring. Your patience and considerable experience with a detecxtor paid off again. WTG, Quindy.

Looks like somebody was going to have chicken dinner that night! :laughing7:

Those are some really nice rings Breezie :hello2:

I feel bad for the chickens :-\

Breezie, the ring is beautiful.

I know that had to feel good.

Gordy, M, Matt, Spitfire, and Deno, thanks for the kudos; yes it was a good feeling to pull up the ring especially after so much junk. It was the last item I found. Ben, I"m sorry to hear SC was the same; I knew it wasn't going to be good after seeing the bottom 3 steps that lead to the beach buried under the sand. NJNYDigger, Ruby was my Momma's birthstone too; I wish she were here cause it would certainly be on her finger! Mortifer, the ring doesn't fit me; it's about a size too big, but that can be easily fixed. Blaze, I felt bad for the chickens too; the cages were so short, they couldn't even stand up. Quindy, NO! :laughing7: I didn't eat chicken that night for supper. After that drive, I didn't even want to see Col. Sander's picture on the side of a building. :laughing7: Hwy.58 is a single lane road with very few places to pass. Finally I pulled over, took a break at a convenient store, and bless Pat if I didn't catch up with him again. (Not that I drive that fast. *wink) Oh, and I know the Bic Lighter is a true antique collectible because it has a picture/text of a PIRATE! LOL Kenley, not to worry, I'm sending some WATER your way cause Eastern NC after Hurricane Irene has enough for you and anyone else who needs it.

Thanks Gang for taking your time to post such nice comments & kudos.

Looks like a fun hunt to me, congrats on the ring  The chicken truck brings back a lot of memories too, I don't know how many trips I made to Arkansas in the truck with my Dad hauling grain to the Tyson plant. He always said "we gotta go feed the chickens so I can feed you".

Sweet ring Breeze!! It wasn't much of a storm in SC. We actually stood on the beach steps when it hit. Alot of sand was moved right behind the storm but was pilled up on the beach by 6AM. Did find a few older coins two rings and a necklace but nothing good. Tony

Awesome find! :hello2: Ring is in good shape.
I thought those types of chicken trucks were illegal?
Anyway, at least you came home with something for your trouble!
