I can tell you this; during all but the calmest season, the pounding of the surf in the area of the wrecksite can be heard two miles away.

Unfortunately, both the Wells Fargo transfer and the Purser's safe were salvaged; yet many money bags carried by the passengers (who drowned because of carrying the weight of their gold) may still be on the bottom--buried in the 'soft' sand that dominates that area.
