Got out of work early, and a heavy rain earlier got me excited...
Recently, I switched to the 5X8 coil full time, and ditched the gray ghost amphibians, back to the Garrett stock headphones....it's like I never hunted this site before!

This yard has been pounded, and loaded with trash...thrilled to find two wheats, a little key that was 8 inches, and a rotting metal cap gave me a signal that I should dig...sweet little cold cream jar!

The best two finds...the large copper tube, had a surprise waiting for me inside...waited to get home to open it. No coins, as I had hoped, but a very cool little perfume bottle. Awesome!:hello2:

Also dug a colorful brooch... Turns out, it's brass, made in Italy, and the design is all made of tiny glass beads...it's called a vintage, micro mosaic Millefiori design. OUTSTANDING!!!:headbang:

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Is that juice in that perfume bottle or just coloration on the glass from the evaporated liquid?
Some real unique finds, Dave...........

Very cool,, That 5 X 8 Coil on the AT PRO will really help you shoot through the trash. Too bad the perfume tube wasn't filled with coins.
The brooch is different.
Congrats

No, the glass is slightly oxidized... There was a label on the glass, but it was rotted off, couldn't read it.

That's a cool hunt Dave. That tube would have never made it home for me unopened. I have no will power😉. Nice hunt.

So I get home, shake the tube for my wife, and she couldn't wait to pop it open.

That came out wrong.

you rock man...and your expanded vocabulary is intimidating...Millefiore.. But seriously, I too like the anticipation of waiting to see with these types of things, once I get home.

Like the copper tube with the perfume bottle inside. WTG!

Real nice finds Dave! That tube is cool, I've found two brass lipstick ones, one still the lipstick that smelled fresh in it. That brooch is really sweet. I picked up the Time Life collectibles encyclopedia set(15 books) from the '70's at the library book sale, fill a bag for $5 so wicked cheap. But I digress, the point is I just finished the section on jewelry and recognized the style, nice job IDing.

Very nice, love the brooch

Cool digs Dave, It's always a crap shoot, you did pretty good for a site you already pounded. Looks like you saved some cool pieces.

Yea Sarge, I am a bit bummed though...after switching up the basics with my hunting style, I wonder what I left behind at permissions past?

Congrats on some nice finds and we all leave stuff behind at every site, that's why it always pays to go back

Some really nice finds, especially the brooch which is very unique. I've had the AT Pro for a couple years now and have had a lot of success with the stock coil, but I'm reading a lot of good comments about the 5 x 8 so I'm real close to getting one. Can't help but wonder what I might be missing. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet saves! Congrats!

Awesome broach and perfume bottle!

Its seems every little change we make in our hunting can reveal something new.

It well could have been you, my big footed friend, that convinced me to stay loyal to the 5X8... Actually, don't reall the poster, but it convinced me to give it a ride..glad I did!
