Afternoon hunt netted a first for me!!!

I escaped from work this afternoon while they weren't looking! I got home in time to change, grab my gear, and head out to the old school in time to get about a two hour hunt in before dark. I decided to hunt a large field that lies behind the school. Found three pennies...only one of which was a wheat. A couple of dimes, a nickel, a button with small designs on it and a strange metal cap that is attached to what once was a glass bottle? Right about the the time I was saying to myself "its getting dark....time to go." ......I dug another signal and pulled a nickel that came out silver color. Not rusty red like all the others I have ever dug. Thought that strange, and then I looked at the date......1945. My first war nickel!!! Its not the best specimen but it will stay in my collection! Very happy I escaped from work this afternoon!
