A hack is a hack is a hack!
Did some totlot clad to start the day off right. Got a couple bucks, hit the four-week rotation scheduled lots.
Then went off to a place where Dan, Mayo and I had hit up a couple weeks ago. No coinage, some odd looking pin that is soaking until it can be read. No coal tags today either. But someone had hit the screw-jack bottle hole hard on one side, appears they had removed several tobacco tins and other rust-laden bits. They had not taken the bottles sitting on the edge of the site though. Had they dug another inch to remove the bottom of intact drinking glass and tonsilene bottle that they had exposed, they might have also found this beautiful mother of pearl button, the size of a quarter and in fairly good shape. I've gotten a half dozen MOP buttons there so far, mostly dime size and fairly delaminated.
The tonsilene bottle is nice looking, seems they had some extract in there for sore throats. I'll bet that's what killed off all the giraffes in this area....
