Went out MD to an old wagon trail today. In the area of Santa Fe NM. were I live. Found these 2 shells and would like age and info on them. The shells read W.R.A.Co. 44 B.D. and W.R.A.Co 30 W.C.F. :dontknow:
This area is full of really old trails. Even back to the Conquistadors... :headbang:

Included my Old Horseshoe Tree pic. Has Horse, Mule, Donkey, and maybe even OX shoes.

Keep Swinging...:laughing7:

Cool finds. A .44 Bulldog cartridge from around the turn of the century and a 30 Winchester Centerfire casing (otherwise known as the 30-30 today) from the same time period, 1880's to the 30's on the Bulldog and still today on the 30-30.

Cartridge cases.

W.R.A. Co. [Winchester Repeating Arms] was used from 1866 to 1929

The .30 WCF was introduced in 1894. Now called a .30-30

The .44 B.D. [Bulldog] was produced in the 1880's. That's a rare one! "Bulldog" is a style of short barrel revolvers.

Thanks for the info. The period around the turn of the century fits. The trail I believe was used a lots as I have had so many MD hits. A lot of old half and whole horse shoes, wagon wheel shims, square nails, pieces of chain, even round musket balls. A lot of what you'd expect, wire, tins, square nuts, and bolts.
Love finding anything old and hope I can keep swinging for a long time...
