all of my life I have heard of a gold shipment destined for the confederate treasurey in Richmond that was lost near Birmingham Alabama at the start of the war. it is assumed that the troops that were guarding and buried this treasure were all killed during the war. does any one know of this story that can give me the details to add to what I already have. I will be happy to share any and all information that I have. thank you
