Hi Michiganders,
I drove past one of my field sites last week and noticed it was cut lower than it has ever been. It is an alfalfa field and has a crop in it a good part of the year so hard to get into to hunt. I've hunted this field only twice before, so last Sunday I spent a couple hours gridding. Just when I got a decent signal, noticed a neighbor from across the way coming over to talk. I marked the signal with my shovel and waited until he left before digging. Out came this 1848 LC...one of my favorite coins to dig. (I had never heard of an LC until I started MDing.) Anyhow, I'll be back and the neighbor said I could hunt around his yard although it hasn't much age to it.
HH and keep digging!
