Always ask for big dollars!!!

There are about 7 banks within a few blocks of each other. They are about 10 miles from where I live and they always have a lot of coins. They are also all of the same Asian persuasion and very friendly.

I try to go there about every two months. I always ask for halves and BIG DOLLARS and show them my keychain which has one of each on it.

At my second bank on Saturday morning (after asking) the girl asks me how many I would like (good sign) I said I had $800 and she ran off to the back. In a few minutes she came slowly back carring a big canvas bank bag with a note that said $600. She said they have been in the vault since she started two and a half years ago (I have gone to this bank over 6 times in that time) Anyway I paid my $600 and decided to count them in front of the teller (she insisted) They were exactly $100 short. I was happy I counted, they were not. Any way after a few minutes of them trying to count and recount to make the total higher they refunded me the $100

Now this is what I got 497 plain old IKES and a 1924 Peace dollar an 1889 Morgan dollar and a 1974S proof IKE All are in pretty good shape.

Wouldn't that have been something if I did come out with 597 after I got home?

The vault teller was visibly upset because she has been counting it as $600 for two and a half years. Now she has to report to the manager a $100 short.

its happend to me a few times. Ive found like 400 at one clip and hundreds others. although ive yet to find a silver dollar. I can wait though. I will eventually

Just keep at it, you are in the bank anyway.
