Hi All,

I just recently got permission to hunt a 1800's house. I was told it has been hunted before by others, but heck it is new ground for me to swing my coil over. Well I had a 2 hour hunt today and had relic kind of day. I dug the badge like thing that says Howe on it first. I don't know what it is so if anyone knows that would be cool. I then dug the 1800's button and could see the gold gilt gleaming through the dirt when I dug it. I was hoping for some marking on the front, but how much gold gilt this button has left on it makes it a real keeper :headbang:. The I dug the cufflink which was actually under a piece of junk so I was getting a funky reading with the combination of the two being in the same hold. The cufflink has two familar faces on it if anyone also has any idea of age and what they really are that would also be cool. To finish out the hunt I got a toasted and roasted :laughing7: 1893 Barber Dime. I was able to see the date with a loupe. I also dug some wheat cents and clad coins overall not a bad two hour hunt :icon_thumleft:. Thanks all for looking.

Those r sum wicked finds! That button is SICK lookin with all the gilt still on it.. Wonder how old the cuff is? CONGRATS.. HH

Nice button and cufflink Bubba. The gold button back mark appears to be Scovill & Co. , Superior , which is around 1840 - 1850. The cufflink faces are Theatrical masks. Is there any back marks?

That gilded beauty would look good in anyone's display case. congrats!

Funny how people sometimes say "I doubt you'll find anything, I've got a detector & all I've found is some square nails..."That usually brings a smile...

That would be a good day in anyones book. Nice finds for sure. Love those hunted out areas :)

Thanks all for the good words, CWhunter there is no backmarkings on the cufflinks. I am going to posy in the What's It forum. Again thanks all.

Nice finds! I'm seeing the back mark on the button as "scovilleS & Co SuperFINE", an 1840's back mark.

Bubba,
Those finds would make anyones day! cool finds my friend, The "Scovill & Co. Place the button in the 1840-1850 Range A really cool find.
The cuff link with the clown faces who knows ,I know my exwife had wall hanging masks of the same design in the 1980's So there is no telling how old it is.
