This is my first posting here as I have just joined. I’m hoping someone can help me identify this headstamp from a piece of trench art I discovered while going through an old family trunk.

2nd - I searched Google and found possible headstamp letter ID - I am sure member(s) will jump in shortly with more information.

TE - Atelier de Construction de Toulouse (France)
BS - Atelier de Laminage de l'Ecole Pyrotechnie de Bourges (Brass Factory)​

To me that looks French. 8mm Lebel, or also called 8X50 R. Not positive, but pretty sure. Don't know the maker. Gary

The "TE" stands for "Cartoucherie de Toulouse, Toulouse, France" and the 17 should be 1917 if I'm thinking correctly. I don't know much about French ammo but I think that's right
