More blind hunting today (Dig a test trench 18" and listen for signals) yields nothing spectacular. But a rare pleasant August day in Virginia allowed us to find about 30 bullets, about 100 percussion caps, and a couple of other things. But digging buddy talked his 80 year old dad (Hunting since 1970) into dusting off his 35 year old six-button Nautilus and joining us. He hunted (seriously) every bit as hard as we did, and found more bullets than me. Something to be said for experience, for sure! Here is the "old man's" take:

His 54 year old son (My regular digging partner) beat us both (as usual) with HIS 35 year old 6 button nautilus. See below -

Bringing up the rear (as usual) I did find a probable cartridge box buckle, a Gardner, and Enfield, and the center plug out of a Boreman fuse. A fun day with good friends.
