I’m a bit of a magpie! I used to collect minerals but they took up space and were too heavy. I took up meteorites but finding them needs deserts or light ground contrast. Went couple times but too expensive of a trip. You can find them in North America if you follow news of sky falls. They were too far and in between! Other falls are easier finding and can sometimes bring a surprise.

Thanks brother, metal detecting just finds old stuff which is unexpected to be found on the surface, apart from parking lot 60’s pennies in my experience. I find that those linger in parking lots for a long, long time, what’s cool about those, is that I think we can date those parking lots, like for instance a McDonald’s location I found a half green half black side (against the asphalt which transferred onto it) 1963 Lincoln penny.
