An arragement / marker or coincidence? Riverbank find...

So the region of Texas this was found in had a lot of activity from 1830-1880 with just about every type of traveler. Tribal Nations, Texas Independence Fighters, Civil War Confederacy, basically a wide collection of interesting history. The area is still largely agriculture, which emphasizes lots of water, so to find this on a riverbank seems logical. However, does the following collection look like an arranged setup, or just coincidence in a place where they might have landed due to drainage? Thanks for looking, two photos follow.
