I only had two boxes to search over the weekend...a dime box and a penny box. Well the dimes were pure "SKUNK" but boy was I happy with the pennies. After opening, I noticed a "wheatie" reverse ender. Upon closer look, I found 5 more ender rolls with the obverse showing, a 1928 and 1929 both showing along with some 1940s.

The first roll I cracked open, there were 7 wheaties. This is usually what I get from one box and this was NOT one of the 6 ender rolls. I decided to keep score so I jotted down dates from each of the 50 rolls. 28 of these 50 rolls were skunk but the rest all contained at least 1 wheatie and the roll with the most had 10.

Below are some pictures along with my niece, Harley, who helped me open a few rolls and sort the "good ones" from the "new ones".

Here are the dates from the 126 wheaties I found in that box:

1946d
1946s x 2
1947 x 3

Enjoy the pictures!

Yeah that box is amazing. That 1909 must have got your blood going for a second, lol.

Nice box :icon_thumright: boxes don't get much better than that in terms of shear quantity of wheats.

Here's an update - I stopped by the bank after lunch today and bought 2 more boxes. I just opened the top and peered at one side and in one box I see another wheat back ender and another dated 1930-something. I can't wait to tear into these after work tonight. I'll keep ya'll posted on what may turn up!

OMG - I have used a 30x loop to try and make out a VDB on the back - It just isn't there. :-\

Nice! Where there are wheats there are Indians!

That's what I'm screaming, too! I hope to find an Indian or two! Or maybe that lone Flying Eagle that was in the collection before it got dumped! :laughing7:

Yeah, on the only legitimate collection dump that I've ever gotten ( http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,417646.msg2974600.html#msg2974600 ) I got 1 IH to every $2 in wheats. A good way to check for a collection dump when you want to buy the bag is to have the tellers always clear the magnet for you when you dump. If you find, like I did, 5 steel pennies attached to the magnet, be ready to buy the bag (or buy the bag that already has been filled).

Wow that is amazing :headbang:!!! Usually i average 7-9 a box. that is awesome!

126 wheats? That's like getting pennies from heaven. Is that box dated 1966?

amazing finds!!! congrats on the dream box!!! amazingly cute niece too!!! keep it up and hh! [R.I.P. Rich Hartford]
