An OLD Newbie in East TX

Well, here I am in all my limited glory.
Longview is my home and I've finally taken the plunge by buying an entry level detector from an auction site. Waiting near the mailbox and anxious to give it a whirl!
I have a buddy at work who has been MD-ing for years and we've talked often about it. I recently decided to dive in and on his advice got an Ace 250 as a starting point. I've been lurking about this forum for a bit and picking up some good info. There's a local club here and one of the principals is just a block away...I'm gonna need to check them out as well. Looking forward to posting here with my own noteworthy finds, someday!
