Hello everyone! It looks as though everybody’s been detecting and having fun!
I got out yesterday to one of my favorite fort sites and found a couple cool items. My first signal was this silver thimble. It was a first for me since all my previous ones were brass. My second find is a favorite of mine since I’ve not found one before. It’s an 1834 US wreath buckle that was meant for regimental officers of the infantry or artillery and unfortunately missing the tongue. I initially thought it was confederate but I researched my O Donell buckle book and identified it as the 1834 pattern which matches this site perfectly.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all!

Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Great Saves of the buckle and thimble at the old fort site. Congrat's. Here's hoping you can find the tongue to the buckle on your return trip. Best of Luck to you.

Great finds. Congrats

Congrats on a really great buckle! And that silver thimble- I’ve had one of those on my bucket lists to dig and I’m still waiting. Man you had a good day 👍
