Real or Fake ?
A friend gave me this coin and I know nothing about ancient coins other than they are old.
I hope you will be able to tell me the What-nots of this coin by my pictures.
It has the same sound when dropped on the counter as the Merc if that makes any differance.
I don't have anything to test it or weight it, so the pictures are about all I have.
Thanks for your help.

Edit... There is no seam on the edges

I can't vouch for its authenticity, but I can tell you it appears to represent a Roman coin.
(The MA is part of ROMA). The teamed four horses are called a 'quadriga'; easy to look up that way.

Under the horses, in the area called the 'exergue' are the middle letters FAB which is suppose to be part or all of the abbreviation of the mint city. Offhand, I'm not familiar with any Roman mint with those initials. At best, the 'coin' is suspect IMO.

I would have thought greek with the helmet style, but I'm not much of a coin person.
