While in Florida a few years ago I went to this outside "junk" flea market. Most of the items were from peoples attics. I spotted this Jewish item that just struck my eye. I bought it for $5.00. Anyway it sat in my junk collection box until recently while I was in Manhattan and brought it along to see if it could be identified. There are many stores in Manhattan that sell Jewish religious items.
Anyway to make a long story short the store owner looks at it and asks where I found this. So I told him the story and I asked him what was written on it and its value.
He told me that the words are pronounced Sha-Di and it means the name of GOD. Then he tells me that the piece should be in a Museum. WoW!!!!
He says the piece is Ancient, hand made, and a one of a kind item.
