Not a well posed photo,But I got a cougar! He is over 150 pounds I think. I got a photo of some hikers a little before this cougar came by. I assume he is following them. Cougars are very curious about people. I have walked up this trail many times, and two or three times on my return I have seen tracks in the snow where a cougar has walked right in my tracks for a couple of hundred yards, following me. When I come back down the trail they just step off out of my sight and let me walk by. And when I realize the situation,I pick up the pace a bit! But I do watch my back!!!
NOW SOME ADVICE...If a cougar should approach you...don't run away! Grab a big stick, rock,or Smith & Wesson if you can. Face him with eye contact! Yell at him, intimidate him! Cougars aren't likely to risk an injury for a meal. He will probably change his mind and leave.Worked for me once......
