...And that's when the fight almost started ....
An extended happy hour at the local pub regressed into several of us grouping at a table sharing pitchers .
Having solved the world's problems , we focused on local issues and the relative merits of the county high schools became the topic of discussion .
Full of .032 wisdom when one school was mentioned I pontificated ,
"The only thing that ever came out of that school was football players and hookers !"
The biggest guy at the table , pretty much a stranger to the rest of us , rose to his feet in a huff and declared ,
"My wife went to that school !"
In the silence that followed I thought quickly and replied ,
"No kidding ! What position did she play ?"
