As I'm DEEPLY into antiques ad collecting, I bought this creepy but really cute I'd fashioned doll. Her face is like a porcelain fibre glass thing and I don't know if her dress his original as I got her at a flee market. View attachment 1782503 20191221_210310.webp

Good morning Zane,
Isn't it interesting how most younger people now find older dolls 'creepy'. I attribute this to the 'horror movie' folks... thanks very much for this Chucky! :laughing7:

I actually find your doll to be very cute and interesting, likely dating from the 1950s - 60s. I grew up in the 60s & 70s, so my younger sister always had to get the latest doll for Christmas. My sister had a couple of the 'Baby Tenderlove' & 'Thumbelina Dolls'. I always used to tease my sister by hiding them because knew that drove her crazy.

Hopefully a real 'Plangonologist' (This word is an obscure noun that is used when a collector is specifically obtaining various specimens of dolls) will chime in here for you.
Dave

Thanks for your help antiquarian. As a graphic and part time fashion designer I don't necessarily find it creepy, just really intriguing because of the Annabelle/chucky series. I do agree with Doug though. My little 7 year old sister is HORRIFIED of poor Anna.

Ok. I got another for you guys. I believe her dress is completely handmade and possibly herself as well except this one's face is full porcelain. She doesn't have legs but an umbrella instead. What do you make of her?20191227_084839.webp

Can't believe my friend lied when she said it was handmade. Think I should make her a pair of silk gloves to make her more personal? Also by Victorian, do you mean actually from the era or just styled?
