Spent 3.5 hours gridding the same site as before & got 50 Roman Bronze Coins & a silver of Anton. Pius circa AD150!
Finally a pretty good silver - very worn but I'll take it:thumbsup:

Some of the bronzes came out nice - I will post later...

Altar type reverse of Constantine the great or Crispus, Dad is IDing. It has a reddish hue from the wet area we found it from - ie. very wet soil.

Outstanding job on the silver. Its only 1400 years older than my oldest hammered .... ha!

Now that is an old coin, and silver to boot. Congrats there Cru, it looks great.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of detail the Romans incorporated onto their coinage! :o
Always love seeing the pottery frags too Cru!

Yes, the area we are doing is where a pretty high status building stood, it had under floor heating & tiled roof. The most intresting piece is the top left bit of a very large roof tile, it varies from every other piece I have seen as it has vertical lines down it, maybe to help the water run off?

awesome Cru! some ancient coinage as usual

UPDATE:

Roman Coin pictures added to top - some better examples!
