Went over to Leadville today, mainly cause I like to stop in at that highly overpriced Saturday's store and see what they got I can't live without. Sometimes they got some pretty cool stuff. Took a pic of that place Tamrock made famous. Not as good, but you get the idea. Main roads are good but back roads are no go. We still got a lot of snow on the ground, lakes still frozen over, and avalanche danger is high in some areas.

I think when I took the picture of that old head frame I got up on one of those big rocks. Those were use for each years annual jackleg contest during Boom Days. We'd always donate to the contest and I head up to drop off our donation when things are getting setup. Here's one used a few years back being painted and a numbered grid pattern will be layed out on the flat side to poke full of holes. The Molybdenum mine hauls one down to Leadville each year after James here painting goes up in the pit to pick one out.

The photo I took I submitted when I was on the Society of Mining Engineers or SME website getting the ticket to get into the event they do annually in Denver. I won a price of some mine engineer ebooks worth $150. that I never did collect.

I can walk as far as I want to in that direction, Scruggs. But notice, no tracks on the recpath. Local hikers are avalanche aware and able to avoid them. We're thinking about visitors, who if they saw tracks on the path, would think it was cool to move on.

Thanks!, Yeah I had to submit it, but it wasn't the kind of theme they were asking for. They were asking for images of the latest technology being used in the industry. I submitted it just to see if it got any reaction and it did.

We're having a nice day down here today. My home AC just kicked on for the first time this year. It kinda spooked me because I'm sitting just on the other side of the wall where the outside unit is. Makes a noise when it fires up the motor.
