IEdit: should say half cent in title-- d'oh!

Got permission at a 200 year old home last week, and spent about three hours there with 6 wheat pennies to show for it and nothing else of interest. There was a good deal of yard that I didn't detect, so I went back this morning trying not to get my hopes up. First dig was a 1942 Washington, a first for me and only my 3rd silver ever! 4 hours and 9 what pennies later, I discover what turns out to be an 1890 celluloid starch token. 10 minutes later and this beautiful 1828 half cent is staring up at me!!! What a strange hop through time. There is still another 30 percent of the property to detect...going to be hard not to have high hopes for what remains.

HH everybody

Man that is a killer hunt! Super fun finds with history!!

nice finds!. definitely a bucket list find with that half cent! congrats :occasion14:

Total bucket lister! I feel very, very fortunate with the finds I've experienced so far.

from this coin I learned that In 1828, president John Quincy Adams was defeated by Andrew Jackson. How cool is that?!

These cleaned up really nicely I think:

God, I'd sh*t blue monkeys if I found a coin that old..

Are you kidding me?!? A half cent is AWESOME! Congratz! If you don't have a bucket list yet, start one, put half cent on it, then cross it off!!! :occasion14:
